Beverly Taylor Sorensen Music Program with Mr. Cook

Mr. Cook will be our BTS music teacher. Every student will have an opportunity to learn from him weekly. He received his teaching certificate and Bachelors Degree through the University of Utah’s music education program and later went on to earn a Masters in Music in choral conducting at Central Washington University. He loves the opportunity music affords him to travel and has performed in 13 countries and in 14 languages. In his free time, he also composes and arranges a variety of choral, piano, and instrumental music. As a member of the Salt Lake Vocal Artists, he was involved in winning six first prizes at the Italian Guido d’Arezzo International Choir Competition and was honored to be a part of the American choir at the 9th International Symposium on Choral Music in Argentina. Having loved music from a young age, his early music education journey began with singing in elementary school, taking piano lessons, and joining his high school choir. He has enjoyed teaching secondary and elementary school. He loves getting to know his students and seeing them grow academically and artistically, as well as in their character. His goal is to inspire both an understanding of and lifelong love for music. On a daily basis, he enjoys hearing the witty, funny, and deep things his students have to say. He is very excited to become part of the Aspen Elementary Community.
